Fourth year undergraduate students who are thinking of applying to graduate school next year should also consider applying for external scholarships as well if they have a minimum GPA of A- in their last two years of study.
The two scholarships undergraduate students can apply for are Ontario Graduate Scholarship (OGS) and Canada Graduate Scholarship (CGS) Masters, which falls under the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) umbrella.
Students submitting an application for CGS-Masters through York University will only need to fill out Part A of the OGS application form. Once Part A is submitted, applications will be automatically considered for an OGS award based on the content of the CGS-M application. No separate OGS application, transcripts and assessment forms are needed in addition to the CGS Masters application.
More information on CGS Masters and OGS are found on the Faculty of Graduate Studies website. www.gradstudies.yorku.ca
Undergraduate students submit their OGS application to the Graduate History program office, 2172 Vari Hall by December 1, 2017. The CGS Masters application is submitted online via the ResearchNet Portal by December 1, 2017.
